Official Company Statement

To whom it may concern,

On behalf of Wonder Ventures Limited (“Wonder”), we extend our deepest sympathies to all families, patients, newborns and consumers affected by the recent events involving AMG Medical Group (“AMG”). We understand that this is a challenging time for all, with many families left feeling uncertain and lost as to how the outstanding vaccination services may be completed.

Since the AMG incident broke the news, we have identified that some of the e-payment transactions related to AMG were processed through Wonder. As a leading fintech company in Hong Kong backed by Hong Kong Telecom (“HKT”), we believe that all e-payment transactions should be smooth, safe and protected for all consumers. We deeply resonate with the pain, stress and frustration that many affected families and customers are going through right now, especially navigating with an uncertain and lengthy transaction refund, dispute and claim process.

Under standard payment industry practices, refund requests must follow standard established procedures, which can take over 6 months of extended processing due to the necessary multi-party coordination. However, given the exceptional nature of this incident and the urgent needs of vaccinations for the needed families, Wonder, as a leading Hong Kong fintech company, has chosen to go beyond the standard protocols and establish partnership with trusted medical partners,and proactively support eligible customers with their much needed vaccinations. Today, we announce the following measures:

  1. We have partnered with the largest Hong Kong listed non-hospital medical service provider to provide vaccination and related services for eligible customers with both a verified transaction processed through Wonder and a valid Wonder payment receipt(See Appendix).
  2. For affected and eligible customers that have verified e-payment transaction(s) processed through Wonder and valid Wonder payment receipt, the customer shall be entitled to complete vaccination services at the partnered medical service provider for no additional costs.
  3. For affected and eligible customers that do not have any verified transactions processed through Wonder or valid Wonder payment receipt, we do not have any transaction visibility, and therefore, it would be impossible for us to trace and verify such transactions. Hence, for such cases, we may provide collected payment and medical records (if any) to relevant private and public organisations to assist these affected customers subject to the consent of the customer.
  4. For all verified transactions processed through Wonder and with a valid Wonder payment receipt, we shall seek reimbursement from AMG on behalf of the eligible customers.
